Lavender is the next Essential oil I am going to tell you
about. I also use this oil in my daily routine. It can be used to aid in sleep,
allergies, sunburns, muscle tension and promote relaxing, calmness as well as
some uses when it comes to make-up. Some of which you will see throughout this
post. I am excited about this one because it is one of my favorites and one of
the first to really hook me on Young Living Essential Oils and what they can
offer.
Okay some facts -
The YLEO Pocket reference Appendix section identifies
uses for the Nervous System, Cardiovascular System, emotional balance, skin and
hair. I think this barely scratches the surface as to what you can do with this
oil once you learn how to make your own blends.
Now let’s get to the fun part and go over some of my
favorite ways of using this oil, as well as some ways I have found online and
may be trying in the future. I can say that I have 4 or 5 different blends that
all contain Lavender Essential Oil.
Sleep Aid; Lavender is a wonderful tool to have when it
comes to a good night’s rest. I use it a couple of different ways. First and
probably the easiest way is on your pillow at night. Application: You would put
1-2 drops in your palm and then, quickly, rub together and then on the front
and back of your pillow. Once you crawl into bed and hug that pillow you will
understand why this is another no brainer. I also put a few drops on my feet
with coconut oil and rub it in. For problems getting to sleep or if you just
need that extra nudge you can also add 1-2 drops of Valor. There are also
creams you can make to help with sleeping.
The recipe I have is:
1 cup of Coconut Oil
25 drops of Lavender
10 drops of Valor
10 drops of Vetiver
Diffusing Lavender is also a great way to help get a good
night’s sleep. I diffuse 2 drops of Lavender with 2 drops of Peace and Calming,
for a bigger room I would add an additional drop. You can also diffuse with
Vetiver, which I found can also help with snoring as well.
Lavender Essential Oil can also be diffused during the day to promote relaxation. You can also use it with Lemon in a
number of different ways whether it be to help with allergies, add to your face
wash, use in a flea repellent for your home and even to help with an ear ache.
Once
you start learning how to pair Lavender with other oils, well, if you are already
a Young Living member I must say you will add it to your monthly order lol.
Face wash is a great one as it helps tone, smooth and brightens
the skin. You can do this by simply adding a few drops to your normal face
wash. If you decide to add Lemon make sure to transfer it to a glass container.
It also helps with allergies and is a part of the one of
the allergy trios that contains Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint. You can use it
in a roller ball with a carrier oil of your choice. You can also diffuse them together
I will do 2 drops of each for my living room. I really want to try using it in
a lip balm with beeswax and Lemon Essential Oil, I have read it is really
soothing for your lips and mine are always chapped.
Now let’s talk makeup. It can help in removing make-up or
you can add a drop to your mascara to keep it fresher, longer. To remove make-up you would add lavender to coconut
oil and use it with a wet wash cloth to gently remove make-up in and around your
eyes as well. Work from the inside out and be careful!
Oh Lavender, it is such a wonderful Essential Oil and
there are a number of many uses and stay tuned for more ways you can use it in
different blends later on. Like I have probably repeated at this point, I love
this oil and it’s definitely one I always make sure I have on hand. Visit
