Cleansing air and so much more

Purification Essential Oil is a great oil to use when it comes to things like stabilizing odors in the air, cleaning, bug repellent, cuts/scraps, dry skin and acne. I have found that it is mainly used topically or aromatically. This oil contains Citronella, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Melaleuca Alternifolia, Lavandin and Myrtle.
The YLEO Pocket Reference Guide Appendix section for Purifications classifies: Digestive Elimination, Emotional Balance, Skin and Hair.

My favorite way of using this is oil is diffusing it with the Orange Essential Oil in the living room. Which just so happens to also be one of my husband’s favorite way of using it, and I have found it to be the best for the living room or kitchen area. It cleanses the air thanks to the Purification and the Orange adds a nice uplifting and energizing feeling for you (Great for Spring Cleaning!!). I find it great after work when you want to enjoy the evening with the family.
It is also a great way to purify a room, pun completely intended!! Laundry and bathrooms were my first places to try this and they are great places to use Purification in a diffuser to purify the air as well as your bedroom. I use it near the closet to ensure the area around my clothes is also free of stale odors. I typically use 2-4 drops depending on size of the room.

Ladies!! Your flats – I will use purification (2 drops) on a rag and wipe the inside of my flats to help neutralize those embarrassing odors. I will do this once a week if you wear them regularly or if you are like me and go through phases of what shoes you like to wear you can do it per use.

Zits! Purification is great to use on site for those unwanted blemishes. I can get them on my shoulders to help minimize them I will use Purification and add Frankincense for an extra kick when needed. Some people can even refer to it as a Zit Zapper; I will say the blemishes I get do not last long!

It’s also used in combination with Lavender and Thieves to help with an ear infection and pain. You would use Thieves on the bottoms of our feet to boost immunity. You would use the Lavender topically on the outside of your ears and down your neck to encourage the fluid to drain and help reduce congestion. Then you use the wonderful Purification Essential Oil also topically outside of the ears and down your neck to kill any infection. I have found when layering like this you want to allow for a few minutes between applications. It allows for the first oil to soak in independently before the next application.

Well that wraps up for Purification, well for this post. Sorry for the sparse posts lately – it has been a bit busy. I will be posting one or two more this week before I leave on vacation at the end of the week but will post when I return. I appreciate your patience and wish me luck – its Vegas! Then I will start getting on a more regular schedule.

Relaxing with Lavender

Lavender is the next Essential oil I am going to tell you about. I also use this oil in my daily routine. It can be used to aid in sleep, allergies, sunburns, muscle tension and promote relaxing, calmness as well as some uses when it comes to make-up. Some of which you will see throughout this post. I am excited about this one because it is one of my favorites and one of the first to really hook me on Young Living Essential Oils and what they can offer.

Okay some facts -

The YLEO Pocket reference Appendix section identifies uses for the Nervous System, Cardiovascular System, emotional balance, skin and hair. I think this barely scratches the surface as to what you can do with this oil once you learn how to make your own blends.
Now let’s get to the fun part and go over some of my favorite ways of using this oil, as well as some ways I have found online and may be trying in the future. I can say that I have 4 or 5 different blends that all contain Lavender Essential Oil.

Sleep Aid; Lavender is a wonderful tool to have when it comes to a good night’s rest. I use it a couple of different ways. First and probably the easiest way is on your pillow at night. Application: You would put 1-2 drops in your palm and then, quickly, rub together and then on the front and back of your pillow. Once you crawl into bed and hug that pillow you will understand why this is another no brainer. I also put a few drops on my feet with coconut oil and rub it in. For problems getting to sleep or if you just need that extra nudge you can also add 1-2 drops of Valor. There are also creams you can make to help with sleeping.

The recipe I have is:
1 cup of Coconut Oil
25 drops of Lavender
10 drops of Valor
10 drops of Vetiver

Diffusing Lavender is also a great way to help get a good night’s sleep. I diffuse 2 drops of Lavender with 2 drops of Peace and Calming, for a bigger room I would add an additional drop. You can also diffuse with Vetiver, which I found can also help with snoring as well.
Lavender Essential Oil can also be diffused during the day to promote relaxation. You can also use it with Lemon in a number of different ways whether it be to help with allergies, add to your face wash, use in a flea repellent for your home and even to help with an ear ache.

Once you start learning how to pair Lavender with other oils, well, if you are already a Young Living member I must say you will add it to your monthly order lol.

Face wash is a great one as it helps tone, smooth and brightens the skin. You can do this by simply adding a few drops to your normal face wash. If you decide to add Lemon make sure to transfer it to a glass container. It also helps with allergies and is a part of the one of the allergy trios that contains Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint. You can use it in a roller ball with a carrier oil of your choice. You can also diffuse them together I will do 2 drops of each for my living room. I really want to try using it in a lip balm with beeswax and Lemon Essential Oil, I have read it is really soothing for your lips and mine are always chapped.

Now let’s talk makeup. It can help in removing make-up or you can add a drop to your mascara to keep it fresher, longer.  To remove make-up you would add lavender to coconut oil and use it with a wet wash cloth to gently remove make-up in and around your eyes as well. Work from the inside out and be careful!

Oh Lavender, it is such a wonderful Essential Oil and there are a number of many uses and stay tuned for more ways you can use it in different blends later on. Like I have probably repeated at this point, I love this oil and it’s definitely one I always make sure I have on hand. Visit Young Living Virtual Office and sign up to order the PREMIUM STARTER KIT and start your journey. Minty Fresh

Peppermint Essential Oil is has many wonderful uses. It is one you will often find in blends for things like arthritis, weight management, allergies, and digestive health and it is great for lip balms and soap scrubs. Some of which I will go over throughout this post.

The Young Living Essential Oil Pocket Reference book has an Appendix section and it identifies Peppermint Essential Oil has helping with (Not Curing – helping)
  • Nervous System
  • Respiratory System
  • Digestive/Elimination
  • Muscle and Bone
  • Oral Hygiene
  • Skin and Hair
The smell of Peppermint can be a bit strong so for those who are sensitive to the smell of peppermint I would really recommend testing your tolerance. A way I have tested peppermint tolerance is by putting 1 drop in my palm and gently inhaling. It will penetrate your eyes and might make them water a bit so ONLY ONE DROP to test if you are not sure.  I love the smell of it which is why I don’t mind using up to 2 drops. I will also mention that you do not want to get this oil in your eye and be mindful after rubbing it in or using it on your hand as you would not want to then rub your eye. I have personally done this and it is very unpleasant.

Lets start with something I constantly turn to Peppermint for, headaches. This is really easy and kind of a no brainer in my book. You simply take 1-2 drops of Peppermint oil with a carrier oil of your choice and rub it on your temples, back of your neck and I also rub it across my forehead, just above my brow line. I would definitely rub across your brow line (if you can) when it comes to tension headaches.

I can get extreme tension headaches and I made a blend that I have found does help:

10 drops each
Peppermint
Lavender
Frankincense

8 drops of Peace and Calming

Fill rest with carrier oil (I use Coconut Oil)
15ml bottle w/roller ball

Another great use is for arthritis or pain/discomfort brought on my similar conditions. It has a soothing sensation as well as an almost cooling feeling when applied topically. In my experience it is great coupled with Lemongrass (1-2 drops each) and coconut oil on my joints when your joints are stiff or feel swollen. In the articles I have seen it sounds like a lot of people like to use peppermint when layering oils for muscle or joint pain/discomfort.

Upset Yummy; regardless of why its upset, its unpleasant and we all want it to stop as fast as it can. At least that is how it works in my house. Now whenever I find I may be getting an upset stomach I will take 2-3 drops of Peppermint with a carrier oil of your choice and rub in on my stomach around by belly button. It is also great for when you find yourself with embarrassing gas or if you are starting to feel a bit nauseous. I find it takes about 15 minutes to truly take effect.  So for you ladies that want to ensure you remain dainty regardless what you eat, keep a little peppermint in your travel oil case or purse.

Don’t forget you can also use some of the Essential Oils for cooking. Peppermint is wonderful in teas. I have used it with Thieves and Lemon with chamomile when I have a sore throat or start to feel a little under the weather. It’s a wonderful addition. Peppermint is a great oil to use in drinks, be mindful the strength of these oils and start with only 1-2 drops and work your way up from there. It is much easier to add the hint of peppermint than it is to mask or remove it.

I will be adding at least another three or four posting in the next 24 hours regarding more of the Essential Oils you would receive in the PREMIUM STARTER KIT.  The next to come are Lavender and Purification. When life gives you Lemons

For those of you who have read any of my previous blogs you may have seen a blurb about the starter kit I got that kicked off my Essential Oil journey. It is called the Young Living PREMIUM Starter Kit, it comes with a diffuser, 11 bottles of oils, product samples, and a Product Guide.  A few of you have asked me about it so I decide to go over all 11 oils you would get. I did take some time to look into these oils and I couldn’t have anticipated the, what seems to be, endless uses for them. Some are quite creative. I am still finding more and more information every day.
The first Essential Oil I will be talking about, as you can probably tell by the title of this post, is Lemon.
The Young Living Essential Oil Pocket Handbook has an Appendix section for ‘Product Usage for Body Systems’. It classifies the single oil Lemon as Respiratory, Digestive/Elimination, Immune/Anti-Infectious and Anti-Aging.
There are so many uses for this oil from helping with your body and skin to cleaning and freshening up your home.
I just started using this oil daily. I put 2 drops in a glass of water in the morning, BEFORE coffee. I mean it’s not hard, get up, go to the kitchen (my oils are always on my nightstand) grab a glass and 2 drops go in down the hatch and you’re ready for your day.

You know in doing my research on this I did find that there is actually a process out there called a Master Cleanse that includes a step with a lemonade mixture. Hmm, interesting right? The properties in Lemon Essential Oil can help free up the lymphatic and respiratory system. You can do this my ingesting the oil either by capsule or in your water on a regiment.
The capsule regiment I have found for digestive health, cleansing and detoxing in a veggie capsule consists of 4 drops of Lemon and 4 drops of Peppermint then fill the remaining area of the capsule with water.

You can also put a few drops of the Lemon oil in your normal face wash to help keep your face clear of acne and brighten up your skin. Lemon contains antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that also help as an immune booster.  You can also make face scrubs/washes with

Lemon and other Essential Oils like Peppermint, Grapefruit or Lavender:
  • 8oz Dr. Bronners Castile Soap
  • 8oz distilled/purified water
  • 1 tablespoon of Carrier Oil (Almond is one recommended)
  • 20 Drops of Lavender
  • 10 Drops of Lemon
I have this pinned on Pinterest J
Along with face wash and adding drops of Lemon directly to problem spots for acne – it can also help with Cellulite.
You heard me, cellulite.
To give you a little background information: our bodies store toxins from what we ingest or use (like chemicals from makeup) along with old harden fats cells (gross I know) in embarrassing areas that cause skin to dimple and stretch. While you want to maintain a healthy diet, drink plenty of water and exercise (or yoga like me), cellulite can still stick around.
To give you an added boost in getting rid of cellulite I would recommend rubbing Lemon oil on your problem areas with a carrier of your choice, I prefer coconut for my skin but I have heard almond oil is also great.
Have I mentioned that Lemon is AMAZING for cleaning and freshening your home?

My goodness there is so many uses for this little oil in your home. I used it for grease on a dish – one drop – one swipe I couldn’t believe the ease. I am going to add it to my dish soap for the sink AND I now add 1-2 drops in my dishwasher (more depending on how much glassware is in because it assists with water spots.)
Stickers, goo from labels, price tags, more maybe GUM – No longer an issue
Did you know you can remove CRAYON with Lemon? Crayon!
Green Cleaning – This is hard to do I will admit and some of the products out there are so overpriced and some just do not do the job… Now instead I can add a little lemon to my favorite cleaner OR you can make your own. Which I am going to do the moment I get my 15ml Lemon order which should be soon!
With making your own cleaner (recipe below) you can wash your counter tops, your bathroom countertops and the floors.
  • 11 oz spray bottle (glass or aluminum)
  • 5oz distilled/purified water
  • 5oz Vinegar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 20 drops of Lemon Essential Oil (You can also use Thieves)
You can also use this oil as a wood cleaner or polisher.
There are also some Essential Oils you can ingest which means you can also use for cooking. I personally have used the Lemon for cooking. I used it with Artichokes instead of a lemon or lemon peel. 3 drops for 2 artichokes was PERFECT. I also used 2 drops when my husband was cooking shrimp and it added just enough flavor.
Some other common uses for Lemon oil are:
  • Diffuse or ingest to help with concentration or memory
  • 3 drops in water after spicy food to help with Heartburn
  • Diffuse to uplift your mood (I personally like to do this)
  • Freshens laundry by adding drops to your washer
  • Rub on elbows/feet to help smooth calluses, corns and bunions
Ok well there you have it – The first oil in eleven I will be going over.  The next to come are Peppermint and Lavender as they tie in with Lemon quite a bit. Summer Body with Essential Oils

Well here we are, April just past those Easter candies we all know we ate and we are staring right at it ... Summer.  Ugh we all have that 'pool party' we are going to have to be ready for, time for our last stitch effort at our ideal Summer body.

I myself am looking forward to this year because I have a plan, a woman with a plan. An oily plan :). Essential oils are a great tool in losing weight and getting to your ideal confidence level.

This Spring I am going to try two different regiments and try to talk the husband into one as well.

To start; I am going to get in the habit of ALWAYS doing this - winter, spring, summer or fall - as it helps with your overall health and well being from the articles and testimonials I have come across on the web. Yes I research the things I talk about. I want to make sure the oils and blends I try are healthy and work, I also want to make sure that when you try - it works for you!!!

Okay the Weight Loss Trio is what this regiment is known as. It means using Lemon, Peppermint and Grapefruit. I will go over the other uses for these oils in the next few weeks as well.

What I am going to do is put 3-4 drops of each Young Living Essential Oil (I prefer Young Living due to their purity and seed to seal standards) in a water GLASS. Make sure it is a glass because these oils will melt plastic.

Drinking these oils can be a great way in using them - for these three it can:

Facilitate cleansing and detoxing, assists your kidneys in eliminating toxins, it can also assist in digestion. Did I mention regulate body temperature and cushion joint while energizing muscles??

I know!! This is why I am so excited to start this, most likely tomorrow!!

Okay the next one I have seen a few times around Pinterest and it has sparked my curiosity.

Petrochemical Weight Loss. It is said to not only help with the weight loss but also cellulite appearance. Some of the testimonials I have seen are really inspiring and I recommend you searching around on Pinterest for them or visit mine and view the examples I have pinned!

You will need Citrus Fresh and Grapefruit but some people couple the process with Ledum and some with Juva Cleanse but the process is basically the same so I imagine it must be preference.

I can say that Citrus Fresh definitely helps with the cellulite and the appearance of fatty areas. I use it on my stomach every morning. 2-3 drops in my palm and run circular around my belly button. I had been using it this way since February I ran out of the blend about one week ago. It has firmed up the more fatty areas and smoothed out my stretch marks almost to help with their appears. I have since replaced the regiment with Orange to promote health eating habits. I will say - I miss my Citrus Fresh and it along with Peppermint and Lemon are on my next Essential Rewards order!! I will let you all know how it goes over the next few months with the Weight Loss Trio, I feel pretty good about it helping me with my next ten pounds.

Now, as far as what I want to talk the husband into. There is a blend I have seen testimonials on for men that can also help with persistent heartburn (like my husband has).

4 drops each of Lemon, Peppermint, Grapefruit and DiGize in a veggie capsule twice a day. I have read this helps in as little as 3 months.

Alright well that is all for tonight folks. Thank you for taking the time to read these blogs, I have really enjoyed sharing and hope you have enjoyed it as well. Feel free to comment on what you would like to see more of OR if you want me to expand on anything I have talked about.

Progessence Plus - I will never go back!

Sorry for the delay in the post folks - been a busy week. Oh that tax man.

Tonight I wanted to share my journey with using a well known oil Progessence Plus. I started my journey on March 23rd and in as little as two weeks I can already feel the difference.

A little background on this lovely blend:

Progessence™ Plus serum is a pure, harmonizing serum that is designed specifically for women. Along with wild yam and vitamin E, Progessence Plus is formulated with Frankincense, Bergamot, and Peppermint essential oils for optimal results.

Hey does anyone else see what I see?? Fibromyalgia??!! I was sold on that in itself yet alone the other benefits.

The biggest difference for me so far is the night sweats. I was having problems with night sweats and they were starting to get worse and worse - I have been going on about a week STRAIGHT with no night sweats. This as you can imagine has helped with my sleeping immensely. I do use other oils and blends to help with the pain and anxiety typically coupled with Fibromyalgia but lets just say - throwing this lovely blend in really has me feeling normal.

There are also reports of this blend to be used to help with conception.  I am hoping to have a child in the next couple of years and thought this could help. Lets hope for a success story!! :)

Another reported use for this blend is to help minimize the visibility of those pesky dark whiskers some women can get on their cheeks or chin like me. I can tell that they are not as thick and are a bit lighter but still noticeable - Its still early thought I am sure two to three months of consistent use will show more!!

I will continue to update everyone as my journey continues! I will say that if any of this sounds good to you I would recommend looking into it further. This is a blend that is very popular as you can imagine so the stock availability is limited - if you find it is available you may want to nab it while you can. If you want to just try this oil to start out let me know!

Happier Days

Joy, this has been the miracle oil for me and probably the main reason I dove head first in afterwards.  Let me paint you a small picture here; the past year .... maybe even longer I had been almost defeated due to health problems and having some chronic pain issues. I want to say right now, that was no excuse for how I had began to treat the people around me. Including the ones closest to me as I feel they had the brunt of that. I was short, meaner with comments, very little interest or empathy. I would ignore people and gave off a generally mean demeanor. Along with that, my poor husband, I would have emotional outbursts that looking back make me cringe.

I always thought I was angry .... all of those descriptions sound angry don't they. Well, when I first bought my essential oils kit it came with the essentials oil blend called Joy. I read that it can help with depression by putting it on your wrists and over your heart. The first night I did it, I couldn't believe how easy it became to smile. All I could think that night was how sad I had been because I couldn't help but become so happy about everything around me. I went to work the next day and remember telling my friend "I never realized had been so sad".

Well - its been about two months or so. I think the people around me would agree that a lot has changed.

I now use Joy twice a day:

2 drops on the right wrist and then rub both together
2 drops over the heart

I also use it in a emergency anxiety blend:

10 drops Joy
10 drops Lavender
10 drops Release
10 drops Orange
Fill rest w/ carrier Oil

*I will roll is on my wrists and neck when life throws that lovely curveball that tends to be on fire.

*I prefer roller balls but you can use this same mix and I would suggest starting with 2-3 drops on one wrist then rub both together and then if needed, 1-2 drops on back on neck

A friend of mine was going through a rough time in a relationship and so I looked around on Pinterest and found that there are properties in a few different oils that promote happiness. I decided to throw a small blend together for her.

20 drop of Lavender
15 drop Joy
10 drop Frankincense
10 drop of Orange
fill rest w/ carrier oil (5ml bottle)

Told her to apply 2-3drops on wrist rub together or 2 drops in palm and inhale. She loved the smell!!!! We can all use a pick me up when it comes to shots to the heart.

I am still experimenting at this point but so far - Joy, there is always a place for you in my heart! Thanks for listening - I'll be back!

WAIT!! Would you like to have Joy at your fingertips?? Visit Young Living Virtual Office and sign up to order the Essentials PREMIUM START LIVING KIT which comes with the Everyday Oils and contains JOY!!! This is how I started my journey and I would love for you to start yours!

Introductions?

Well, lets start with full disclosure - I am starting this blog about my oil journey a bit late as I have been using oils for a few months now. Procrastination, I bet there is an oil for that!

Introductions, I'm Michelle. I'm 27 years old, been married for almost four years to an amazing man (my best friend) Colby. We have three cats - Yeah I know what you are thinking but we started with one ... Miss Maddie and she had TWO boys. We couldn't pick just one so we kept both, Colby named them Oswald and Booth - why those names you ask - because he thought it would be funny. Oh that husband of mine *She says with a proud smirk*

I have always struggled with emotional consistency and suffer from chronic pain in my back, shoulders, arms and hands. To be honest I have seen the doctor a number of times and they finally determined a diagnosed of Fibromyalgia.

After really really hitting rock bottom in 2014 (coincidently after I quit smoking cigarettes) and I really struggled with my emotional stability, pain levels and my general attitude towards .... well anything really. I was disconnected, mean and short. Towards the end of the year my friend told me about essential oils and Young Living. She said they had a lot of healing properties and she had read how they could help manage pain and I may want to look into them.

Well I saw that there were different healing properties and you could get a starter kit that includes a diffuser for $150.00 (umm this includes shipping and everything!!). Which is when I received the Everyday Oils Collection that contains like ten oils and a home diffuser.  To anyone reading this - this is not a sales ad in any way shape or form. Yes, I am happy to help you sign up under my distribution number and I can help you with tips and trick BUT folks ..... everyone and I mean everyone should use essential oils on a daily basis.

When I received my kit I started using Joy - right off the bat and I remember coming to Amy  (the friend that recommended essential oils) and telling her 'I didn't realize I had been so sad, I always thought I was angry'. I was so shocked how emotionally happy like that in a while. I was happy from deep down and unless you have been depressed I don't think you can fully grasp the difference.

Its a very fast and busy world and my generation was hit with a whirlwind of information and technology in a critical stage in our lives and the world changed. In all of the hustle and bustle we lost how to truly honor and take care of our mind, body and soul. After all, we only get one and might as well enjoy it!

I have been using oils for about 3 1/2 months now and I have started a few regiments. You can find them in other posts within this blog!

I am not 100% pain free don't get me wrong BUT, I am off all pain medications. I don't need them.  I still have my moments as I find a good regiment but I am off all of my sleeping medication. I mentioned Joy earlier - this has saved my life and my marriage. I couldn't shake negativity and all the attitudes that comes with it. Everyone was starting to become distant and I found I didn't care. Now - I find more moments of myself smiling rather than wishing I still could!

Well there you have it - my start. That's all for now folks, I'll be back! May you always see the best in the person next to you even if they can't see it in you!

Feel free to follow me on Pinterest and learn new tips and tricks!!

You can also visit Young Living Virtual Office and use my distributer number 2338955 if you want to start your oil journey, I would love to hear about it!
